About the course

Pursuing a BSc in Criminology and Psychology provides expert scientific training in the interplay between mind, brain, and behavior, alongside a comprehensive understanding of criminal justice theory and its intersections with these domains.Students explore psychological and neuroscientific processes underlying thinking, reasoning, memory, and language; examine the impacts of brain injury; and investigate strategies to enhance health-related behaviors. The program delivers in-depth knowledge of key theories on crime and deviance, and their applications to modern criminal justice policy, research, and practice. Participants develop strong research, writing, and critical analysis skills, complemented by advanced numeracy and ICT proficiency. Our teaching methods—encompassing lectures, personal tutorials, seminars, workshops, and practical research classes—foster effective teamwork and superior oral communication. This degree includes a year abroad between the second and final years, expanding global perspectives through partnerships worldwide (opportunities vary annually). For more details, contact study@swansea.ac.uk. Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), the program qualifies graduates with at least a 2:2 for BPS Graduate Membership and the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), the initial pathway to chartered psychologist status.
