About the course

Preparing you for a career in the arts, through this three-year degree you will build on your passion for dance while future proofing your career by diversifying your interests to open up a wide range of career opportunities. QUT Bachelor of Creative Arts (Dance) has been designed for you to pick majors, minors and units to build your own specialisation, helping you stand out from the crowd when you graduate. Whether you want to become a creative producer, company manager, arts manager or even dance journalist this course is for you. It will allow you to ground your passion for dance while also nurturing these other interests and future proofing your career in a changing world. If teaching dance is your passion then this degree will allow you to share your passion with others by laying the foundation for a teaching career. You'll learn about safe dance practice and alignment, that can be applied to any teaching dance style in studio teaching and applied in further studies to teach in Australian schools and beyond. If your passion is dance therapy you may wish to explore the Bachelor of Creative Arts/Behavioural Science (Psychology), opening up many more career opportunities. The arts can impact our wellbeing, including our spirits, minds, and bodies. Dance therapists leverage movement to address patients’ mental and physical health needs, using dance as a healing tool for emotional exploration and overall well-being. You may also wish to combine your dance degree with law or business for a range of career opportunities. Tailor your dance degree for your future with a second major or a combination of other creative field majors, minors and specialisation units across multiple subjects.
