About the course

Great marketing campaigns create demand, generate value and drive business growth. Successful companies like Google, Apple and Coca-Cola all have one thing in common—a great marketing strategy. To stay in front of competitors and the minds of customers, they rely heavily on data-driven, strategic marketing initiatives.
In this course, you will learn how to create successful traditional and digital marketing campaigns to drive engagement, build brand recognition and achieve your marketing goals. From old-school channels like newspapers, radio, and television to newer channels like podcasting, social media, and blogs, QUT's marketing major will show you how to navigate the traditional landscape and optimise the digital environment. You’ll also learn the latest marketing tools, strategies, and technologies. These include search engine optimisation (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), customer relationship management (CRM), brand storytelling, social media marketing, consumer behaviour, and integrated communications. Throughout this course, you'll have the opportunity to engage with leading industry professionals inside and outside the classroom. Real-world learning is embedded in this course, and from your very first semester, you will meet and be taught by award-winning academics working in industry and prominent marketing professionals who guest lecture often in our units. As part of our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program, you'll also have the opportunity to complete professional work placements in consultancies, corporate settings, government, and community groups. This will allow you to build on what you've studied in class while also helping you develop the transferable skills and essential work experience, you’ll need to enter the workforce confidently.
