In your first year, students will undertake foundational units in design thinking for the built environment, along with introductions to construction management, structures, residential construction, urban development economics, construction business, and integrated construction. Subsequently, they will study commercial construction, construction-related law, building services, contracts administration, cost planning, controls, building measurement, estimating, and develop their design and building skills. In the final year, the curriculum covers programming, scheduling, advanced quantity surveying concepts, and strategic construction management.Throughout the program, students will apply knowledge to real-world projects, collaborating with lecturers and peers to address practical challenges. They will receive mentorship from industry experts, build professional networks, and access exclusive work placements and cadetships, with some securing job offers before graduation. All students must complete 30 days (equivalent to 225 hours) of approved work experience as part of the Work Integrated Learning core unit.
