Philosophy develops critical thinking and argumentation by addressing contemporary issues, fostering clearer analysis of everyday life. Linguistics examines language's role in communication, identity, and societal meaning, with no prior knowledge required. Ranked joint third in the UK for student satisfaction (NSS 2020), the course equips students with research skills in areas like clinical linguistics and language acquisition, preparing them for careers in journalism, law, broadcasting, and speech therapy.
