The BA (Hons) Games Art course is ideal for those captivated by video game environments and character design. Utilizing industry-standard hardware and software, it develops creative and artistic skills through collaborative projects with game designers, animators, and VFX artists. Students build digital expertise, innovative ideas, and contextual knowledge, working individually or in teams to create games and produce an industry-ready portfolio upon graduation.Graduates are equipped for careers such as character artist, 3D modeller, or concept artist. The program offers access to collaborative studios, a Digital Innovation Lab, VR facilities, and a new Design & Digital Arts building. Key modules span screen arts, 2D/3D digital art, and games design, with assessment focused on coursework and presentations, where final-year work constitutes 80% of the degree mark.

[Year three]
- Optional Placement Year (Sandwich)*
We have an option for all of our students to undertake a placement year (Sandwich) and allow you to decide whether this is right for you once you have completed years 1 and 2 of your course. This time spent working in industry provides our students with crucial work experience, which is highly prized and much sought after by employers upon graduation. If you are successful in securing a placement you will have the chance to gain an additional Certificate or Diploma in Professional Practice, dependent on duration.
