About the course

Crime is continually evolving, as are the methods to combat it, with forensic specialists playing a pivotal role in global criminal investigations. This field extends beyond popular media portrayals, offering deeper insights into science and justice. From the outset of this course, students engage with expert professionals in state-of-the-art facilities, including a renowned crime-scene house, real-world case studies, specialized labs for forensics, chemistry, bioarchaeology, and ballistics, and authentic courtrooms. High-performing students may advance to the MSci program for a master's-level qualification. The curriculum combines hands-on learning in law, ethics, and advanced science, supported by guest speakers, work placements, study-abroad options, and a supportive community.Forensics is a versatile, international discipline with applications in areas such as food safety, biometric security, wildlife protection, financial crime, and combating counterfeiting, smuggling, and designer drugs. This accredited course boasts top UK facilities used by organizations like HMRC and British Transport Police, and is taught by leading practitioners. Students can undertake a 12-month placement with entities like the fire brigade or NHS, potentially leading to job offers, and participate in exchanges with partner universities in Canada.
