In an era of complex crimes, forensic chemistry plays a vital role in advancing justice through the application of chemical principles to evidence analysis. This course builds a strong foundation in chemistry fundamentals, then applies them to areas like illicit substances, toxicology, and casework. Students gain practical experience via work placements and study abroad opportunities, while benefiting from expert teaching and insights from leading guest speakers in the field.Support is comprehensive, including guidance from lecturers, personal tutors, and a student mentoring scheme for academic and life challenges. The BSc (Hons) is a three-year program, extendable to four with a placement, while the MChem (Hons) is a four-year course offering advanced Masters-level study in years three and four, based on strong performance in the first two years.
