Starting in September 2024, the School of Arts and Humanities, including this course, will relocate to our City Campus. The curriculum will remain unchanged, and applicants should have received an email detailing any potential impacts.Communication and Society, along with Linguistics, offer complementary insights into societal transformations, language structures, and human identity. This course equips students with tools to analyse language, explore its social functions, and conduct research, without requiring prior knowledge of grammar or terminology. Topics include clinical linguistics, media discourse, child language acquisition, and evolving communication media. Students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, leading to careers in social work, healthcare, finance, public relations, journalism, and broadcasting.
