Biomedical engineering is a dynamic and rapidly evolving field that prepares students for future careers through close collaboration with industry. At Nottingham Trent University, we emphasise hands-on teaching and real-world experience, elevating our new engineering courses with innovative methods. Our highly practical programs draw on industry and medical examples, addressing current health challenges by developing materials, processes, and devices for disease prevention, treatment, and patient rehabilitation. Key areas include biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, medical imaging, rehabilitation, and cellular, tissue, and genetic engineering.Developed in partnership with organisations like Speedo, PepsiCo, IET, and GlaxoSmithKline, the course integrates theory with live, industry-led projects and offers opportunities for year-long placements in the UK or abroad. This MEng program combines undergraduate and Masters-level modules for a competitive edge upon graduation. We provide inspiring facilities, including 3D bio-printers and brain-computer interfaces, to build essential skills. Accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, it meets requirements for Incorporated Engineer registration and is recognised by the CDIO framework for project-based learning.
