This degree integrates the study of foreign languages with linguistic theory. Students select two languages from options such as Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, or Spanish, achieving near-native fluency. It also explores linguistics, focusing on the structure, history, and usage of English and the chosen languages, including topics like syntax, phonology, morphology, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and language acquisition. Additionally, participants spend a year abroad studying or working to immerse in another culture and enhance their language skills and confidence.
