About the course

Autonomous and robotic systems are increasingly prevalent in daily life, from industrial robotic arms and vacuum cleaners to self-driving cars, drones, and space robotics. There is a strong global industry focus on Robotics and Automated Systems (RAS), as evidenced by national and international strategies. Companies are advancing robotic solutions but require skilled graduate engineers. This course delivers core knowledge in robotics, mechatronics, and control, blending electronics, manufacturing, mechanics, and control techniques through theoretical and practical applications to real industrial challenges. The MEng in Robotics, Mechatronics and Control Engineering targets ambitious students aiming for leadership roles and Chartered Engineer status, differing from the BEng by offering deeper specialization in years three and four, plus business management modules. The first two years are shared, emphasizing engineering fundamentals and industrial problem-solving. Assessments combine coursework (30-50%), exams, and project reports or presentations. The course is professionally accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, ensuring industry recognition.
