Our History and Politics joint honours degree provides equal emphasis on both disciplines, ideal for students passionate about these fields. The curriculum is evenly divided between the subjects.The history element covers the period from 1600 to the present, with a primary focus on the modern era across regions including Britain, Europe, North America, the British Empire, Soviet Russia, South Asia, Australia, and China. It progresses from broad surveys to in-depth explorations of specific countries, themes, and culminating specialist case studies. Meanwhile, the politics component develops critical and analytical skills for examining current political issues, actors, and institutions, encompassing the operations of domestic and international systems, as well as key debates and controversies.
