The global energy crisis and accelerating climate change are driving the urgent transition to a net-zero society. Our Energy Engineering programme, developed through strong industrial partnerships and expertise in renewable energy and sustainable technologies, equips students with essential knowledge and transferable skills to address challenges in energy supply security and sustainable development. As global energy demands continue to rise, this interdisciplinary course prepares you to innovate with existing and emerging technologies in the sector. With many countries now achieving 50% renewable energy production, it explores interconnected supply systems and associated vulnerabilities.Students will gain insights into energy services, efficiency, environmental compliance, and sustainable technologies, supported by facilities and experts at our Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology (CREST), alongside core principles from mechanical, sustainable manufacturing, and electrical engineering. The first two years focus on foundational learning to ready you for optional placements in the energy sector or specialized pathways later. Assessments combine coursework and examinations, with project modules involving reports, demonstrations, and presentations; coursework typically comprises 30% to 50% of evaluations.
