Architectural Engineering, BEng (Hons)

This design-led course, based in the School of Architectural, Building and Civil Engineering, builds expertise in engineering principles applied to architectural design. It fuses creative architecture with rigorous engineering to enable Architectural Engineers to oversee sustainable building processes from concept to construction, integrating environmental design, structural engineering, and interactive projects that blend technical and humanistic elements. Students benefit from site visits, study trips, and insights from industry experts.The BEng program emphasizes foundational engineering and design skills for early career entry or further specialization, with an option to transfer to the MEng after two years. The MEng extends this with advanced projects in environmental engineering and automated construction. Assessment combines coursework, design outputs, essays, presentations, and exams, fostering skills from hand-sketching to Building Information Modelling.
