This programme offers a comprehensive understanding of psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society, providing the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership. Students will build expertise in key themes such as Brain and Behaviour, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Social Psychology, while developing proficiency in German language and culture. In the first year, foundational modules in Understanding Psychology, Investigating Psychology, and language classes lay the groundwork. The second year deepens knowledge in these areas, including research methods and statistics, alongside advanced German studies. The third year involves an international placement in a German-speaking country, enhancing language skills and intercultural awareness through study or work. Returning for the fourth year, students explore advanced psychology topics and conduct a research project. Opportunities for voluntary work experience via the Psychology Employability Programme build practical skills for careers in psychology or beyond. Note that beginners in languages may only study one from that level, with options limited accordingly.
