Our Study Abroad programme in Physical Geography offers an immersive exploration of the natural environment, emphasizing fieldwork and instruction from globally acclaimed lecturers. It examines key Earth-system elements, including the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and geosphere. Students utilize advanced equipment at Lancaster Environment Centre and spend one year gaining practical experience at partner universities in the USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, with world-class teaching throughout.In the first year, foundational modules introduce core themes, complemented by two additional subjects for broader skills. The second year focuses on skills like spatial analysis and Geographic Information Systems, with options for field trips to Spain. The third year is spent abroad, enhancing global perspectives, while the final year involves a supervised dissertation and elective modules on topics such as glacial systems and water management.
