The MBChB Medicine and Surgery with a Gateway Year is a six-year programme designed for UK students who meet widening participation criteria but do not qualify for our standard five-year MBChB course (A100).This Gateway Year builds essential knowledge, academic writing, and independent study skills through modules in biology, biomedicine, chemistry, and key medical topics such as the sociology and psychology of health, and medical ethics. Upon successful completion, students advance to Year 1 of the MBChB. If progression criteria are not met, they may transfer to the second year of another degree in Lancaster University’s Faculty of Health and Medicine.
A local representative of Lancaster University in Singapore is available online to assist you with enquiries about this course.
