This mathematics degree enables students to apply knowledge from a comprehensive curriculum in the first two years while engaging in full-time employment across public and private sectors. It provides a rigorous study of mathematics as the foundation of science and technology, covering topics such as calculus, probability, statistics, algebra, and computational methods. Students develop skills in data analysis, problem-solving, scientific writing, and tools like R and LaTeX, while completing projects to enhance research and employment abilities.In the third year, a 12-month placement allows application of prior learning in professional settings, with support for CVs, interviews, and self-presentation from the Careers Team. The university assists in securing placements, offering alternatives if needed. Returning for the final year, students select specialized modules in areas like combinatorics and number theory, reflecting on placement experiences to align with career goals.
