Mathematics and statistics form the foundation of modern life, driving advancements in science, medicine, technology, and business. Our programme delivers a thorough education, equipping students for diverse and fulfilling career paths by fostering a deep understanding of patterns and changes across various domains, from human behavior to financial markets.In the first year, students build on foundational knowledge in topics like calculus, probability, statistics, logic, and proofs, while enhancing skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and quantitative reasoning. The second year advances studies in analysis, algebra, and computational mathematics, including numerical methods and applications. Students also complete a Project Skills module, gaining experience in research, group work, scientific writing, and tools such as R and LaTeX. In the final year, optional specialist modules in areas like combinatorics, number theory, medical statistics, and stochastic processes allow tailored learning to align with individual career goals.
