Lancaster’s History and Politics degree is taught collaboratively between our Department of History and our Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. It gives you the opportunity to develop knowledge, political insight and specialist skills alongside students and scholars who share your passion and interests.You’ll be able to select complementary modules from each department. So, for example, in History you may choose to study the political and cultural history of the United States while exploring Government and Politics of the United States in your Politics courses.You’ll begin your degree with core modules including From the Ancient to the Modern: History and Historians, and Politics in the Modern World.In the second and third year students will be able to choose from a broad range of options, such as Politics and History of the Middle East; International Relations, Security and Sustainability; Politics of Development and Global Changes; Understanding Key Economic Concepts; Issues in Contemporary Politics and Philosophy.
