Fine Art and Creative Writing, BA (Hons), with study abroad

Lancaster's Fine Art and Creative Writing degree is designed for individuals with strong academic and creative talents, offering an integrated study of both disciplines. Creative Writing is taught by established authors through lectures, readings, and interactive workshops, beginning with an introductory module in the first year and progressing to genre-specific units like short fiction, poetry, or creative non-fiction in subsequent years. Fine Art emphasizes practical and theoretical development, allowing students to hone skills in painting, drawing, sculpture, digital art, and hybrids, guided by professional artists and historians to align with personal artistic goals.The study abroad option in the third year at international partner universities fosters a global outlook, expands professional networks, and builds cultural awareness. Students select modules related to their degree alongside host university offerings, with past destinations including Australia, the USA, Canada, Europe, and Asia. While efforts are made to secure placements, availability may vary, and students unable to go abroad can transfer to a standard three-year program.
