Electronic and Electrical Engineering, MEng (Hons), with industry placement

Electronic and electrical engineering encompasses the wide-ranging application of electricity and electronics, from microprocessor systems to large-scale power generators, influencing virtually every sector. This programme leverages research-informed teaching and expertise in areas such as microelectromechanical systems, radio frequency engineering, and collaborations with organisations like CERN and the European Space Agency.The course starts with a shared first year covering foundational topics like heat transfer and manufacturing, fostering interdisciplinary skills. Subsequent years include specialist modules, group projects, and an individual research project, alongside management training in finance, law, and safety. The fourth year features an industry placement to enhance employability. Accredited by the IET, the MEng provides hands-on experience and access to schemes like the UK Electronics Skills Foundation for bursaries and placements.
