Our BSc Hons Cyber Security programme equips future systems engineers and architects with a strong foundation in computer science, blending theory and practice. It builds on core concepts by incorporating specialised skills in areas such as penetration testing, digital forensics, cryptography, network security, and resilient distributed systems. Drawing on world-class research from the School of Computing and Communications, the curriculum covers advanced topics like secure AI, autonomous systems, and cyber-physical security. In the first year, students explore fundamental principles through practical modules in software development and digital systems, while addressing ethical issues. The second year delves deeper into cyber security aligned with the UK’s Cyber Body of Knowledge, including cryptography and penetration testing. The third year features advanced studies in adversarial AI and critical infrastructure security, culminating in an individual project and an optional year abroad at partner universities. This programme aims to meet National Cyber Security Centre accreditation standards.
