About the course

Kingston's Biochemistry course, accredited by the Royal Society of Biology, provides one year’s free associate membership upon graduation, along with extensive practical experience in laboratories upgraded with a £6.8 million investment. Recognized with a Teaching Excellence Framework Gold rating, it explores molecular processes from DNA and proteins to whole organisms, helping students address life's challenges. In the final year, options include Advanced Analytical Science, Clinical Chemistry and Haematology, and independent research projects, equipping graduates for roles in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and beyond.Future Skills, integrated throughout the curriculum, foster problem-solving, digital competency, and adaptability to prepare students for evolving careers in forensics, medicine, teaching, and business management. Example modules cover Current Concepts in Biomolecular Science, Molecular Biology of the Cell, and Clinical Chemistry and Haematology. Currently under revalidation for 2025/26 entry, the course updates content to meet industry demands and support further research.
