The hospitality and tourism industries contribute more than AUD$4 trillion in gross global output, which translates into millions of jobs worldwide. As the industry moves from being skills-based to a more knowledge-based industry, you need a higher level of education to access the top jobs. Managers now need to be fully attuned to the culture, service and competitive aspects of the sector. Whilst studying the Diploma, you will learn about the service industry in general, basic hotel operations and basic management and accounting skills. Completion of the diploma program will typically allow a student to progress into year 2 of a degree program.
