About the course

Explore the dynamic interactions of physical geography while developing analytical and technical skills to understand landscapes and climate over time. Gain expertise in society-environment interactions through fieldwork, research, GIS, and data analysis, focusing on human and physical geography, sustainability, climate change, and urban development.Hands-on fieldwork is embedded at every level, with local, national, and international field trips offering practical experience in diverse environments. Access industry-standard facilities, including advanced labs, environmental monitoring equipment, GIS, remote sensing tools, UAVs, and Coventry University’s Simulation Centre. The employability-focused curriculum includes GIS training with certification, placement year or study abroad options, and flexible pathways (switchable after year one, subject to requirements), preparing you for careers in environmental consultancy, urban planning, sustainability, and GIS analysis. Virtual fieldwork and desk-based research support inclusive learning. Please see the course page on the Coventry University website for details.
