The Theatre and Creative Writing BA programme is designed for those eager to explore the depth of theatre history and contemporary practices while nurturing their creative writing interests. Students develop practical skills in areas such as acting, directing, applied drama, physical theatre, digital performance, musical theatre, and playwriting. On the writing side, the curriculum covers diverse styles including journalism, screenwriting, comedy, short stories, and the modern novel, alongside an in-depth understanding of theatre concepts, historical themes, and author techniques.At Brunel University, students join a vibrant community of creatives, with opportunities for collaboration in acting, directing, playwriting, and production. Learning occurs in the state-of-the-art Antonin Artaud Performance Centre, featuring theatres, studios, and recording facilities that host events like Arts@Artaud nights. Industry connections provide guest lectures and trips to London’s West End, while a work placement year enhances professional development, with past students interning at organisations such as Park Theatre and Unicorn Theatre.
