Psychology in sport, health, and exercise is a rapidly growing field, especially in professional sports, where exploring the mind-body connection helps elucidate motivation, determination, and the impact of physical activity on the brain. This course is collaboratively offered by the Divisions of Psychology and Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences, and is accredited by the British Psychological Society. The Psychology Division provides a solid foundation in cognitive, developmental, and biological psychology, along with quantitative and qualitative research methods to support dissertation projects. Meanwhile, the Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences Division focuses on sports psychology fundamentals, applying research to real-world scenarios and preparing students for roles as applied psychology practitioners in sport and exercise settings.Graduating with a 2:2 or higher qualifies students for graduate membership in the British Psychological Society, essential for postgraduate training and entry into accredited Stage 2 or Doctoral programs for chartered psychologist status.
