Our media and communications degrees offer a critical understanding of media in the contemporary world, emphasising social and cultural aspects alongside industry-standard training in production skills. Students gain access to the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite, building foundations in photography, audio-visual production, and video editing within dedicated facilities. The curriculum explores industry dynamics from various perspectives, including debates on free speech, the impacts of social media, and the metaverse.Throughout the four-year programme, students benefit from mentoring, placement opportunities, and our partnership with the British Film Institute, which includes career masterclasses and industry training. Collaborations with employers such as Creative UK and CallTime Foundations provide diverse placement options, including short-term placements, the Brunel Summer Internship Programme, or extended options like a one-year placement or two six-month placements via specialised programmes. Sample modules include Key Ideas in Media, Media Production 1: Non-fiction, Making Sense of Culture and Society, and Researching Culture & Society. For full details, visit the Brunel website.
