The Brunel Law with Criminal Justice LLB provides a qualifying law degree, equipping students with specialised expertise in criminal law and justice. In addition to core LLB requirements, the programme covers substantive criminal law, practical aspects of the criminal justice system, and encourages critical analysis of crime's origins, societal effects, and effective countermeasures. Students can opt for a three-year full-time course or a four-year version with a professional placement for hands-on legal experience. From 1 September 2021, the solicitors' qualification pathway requires a degree and passing the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) Parts 1 and 2, though Brunel LLBs offer strong preparation in essential subjects. Students who started or committed by 21 September 2021 may choose between the traditional QLD route or SQE route, as this programme qualifies as a QLD. For barristers, it meets the foundations of legal knowledge. All students receive ongoing career advice on placements and further studies, with typical modules including Public Law and Legal Skills, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice Systems, Contract Law and Civil Justice Systems, and Academic and Professional Development.
