Brunel's BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Computer Systems) is a contemporary program designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for careers in electronic and electrical engineering, with a focus on embedded systems. It develops an understanding of engineering, scientific, and economic trade-offs in system design, alongside familiarity with architectural techniques, methodologies, and applications such as FPGAs and reconfigurable computing. Students explore fundamental subjects like design, structures, materials, fluid mechanics, electronics, maths, and technical drawing, while learning to implement computer systems based on practical considerations.The course provides access to advanced facilities, including computer, electronics, power, and control laboratories, plus industry-standard software for experiments. Accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), it meets the requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status and can be completed in three years full-time or four with a placement year for professional experience.
