Our BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (Computer Systems) is a contemporary programme designed to equip you with essential knowledge and skills for careers and research in electronic and electrical engineering, specialising in embedded systems. It fosters understanding of engineering, scientific, and economic trade-offs in embedded system design and implementation; provides hands-on experience with architectural techniques, design methodologies, and their applications—including FPGAs—and principles of reconfigurable computing. You will explore core engineering disciplines such as design, structures, materials, fluid mechanics, electronics, mathematics, and technical drawing, while learning to develop computer systems based on scientific and economic considerations.Students access state-of-the-art facilities, including computer, electronics, power, and control laboratories, plus industry-standard software in dedicated clusters. Accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the programme meets academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status and professional engineer qualification. It is offered full-time over three years or four with a placement year.
