Brunel’s Computer Science BSc equips you to develop software solutions for business problems, teaching you to specify, design, code, modify, and test web-based and mobile systems using commercial-grade development environments and database tools. You’ll gain in-depth knowledge of algorithms, design, programming, testing, system architectures, requirements capture, and project management in team-based development. The course incorporates emerging technologies like drones and robots, fosters flexibility with module choices, transfers to Business Computing up to Year 2, and specialisms up to Year 3.One-third of each year is project-based, including team projects in Years 1-2, an individual final-year project, and showcasing at the Made in Brunel event with awards from Cisco, Sky, and Xerox. A optional year-long placement offers professional experience, boosting employability at firms like Accenture, Microsoft, and Barclays. Accredited by the British Computer Society for CITP, IEng, and partial CEng, the programme holds Athena SWAN Bronze status with a Women in Engineering and Computing mentoring scheme.
