Brunel’s Computer Science BSc equips students with the skills to develop software solutions for business challenges. Participants learn to specify, design, code, modify, and test diverse software systems, including web and mobile applications, using commercial-grade development environments and database tools. The curriculum builds in-depth expertise in algorithms, programming, testing, and system architectures, fostering a reflective approach to team-based project management and incorporating emerging technologies like drones and robots.The programme emphasises flexibility, allowing module selection and specialisation up to Year 3, with opportunities for transfers to related fields. It features project-based learning across all years, a year-long work placement for professional experience, and accreditation by the British Computer Society for Chartered IT Professional status. Graduates often secure roles at leading firms, supported by initiatives like the Women in Engineering and Computing mentoring scheme, which promotes gender equality in STEM.
