Our Civil Engineering MEng programme is an innovative qualification designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles and management skills, addressing the demands of the construction industry.The curriculum covers core areas such as design, structures, materials, fluid mechanics, geotechnics, and mathematics, progressing to advanced topics like structural analysis, computational mechanics, project management, and finite element analysis. Students access state-of-the-art facilities, including laboratories for fluids, hydraulics, structures, materials, and geotechnics, along with industry-standard software. The programme includes residential field trips for hands-on surveying and geology experience, guest lectures from professionals, and site visits. Accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators, it can be completed in four years full-time or five with a placement, fulfilling requirements for Chartered Engineer status. We promote the placement option for practical industry exposure, and events like Brunel Engineers offer networking opportunities.
