About the course

This Business Computing BSc degree enables specialisation in eBusiness, focusing on how software and IT systems support business transactions and drive sales. Through a blend of theory and practical application, students learn to design dynamic processes for efficient information systems that adapt to organisational growth. The curriculum offers flexibility, allowing module selection and transfers between Computer Science and Business Computing up to Year 2, with specialisation options up to Year 3.The program includes project-based learning, making up one-third of each year, with team-based software development in Years 1 and 2, and an individual project in the final year. Students can undertake a year-long work placement for professional experience, enhancing employability, as seen in graduates joining companies like Accenture and Microsoft. Accredited by the British Computer Society, it meets requirements for Chartered IT Professional status and promotes gender equality via initiatives such as the Women in Engineering and Computing mentoring scheme. Sample modules include Software Project Management, Logic and Computation, and Business Analysis and Process Modelling.
