The Bachelor of Arts in Literature, offered by the Department of Literature in the College of Arts and Sciences, requires a 2.00 GPA for admission and departmental approval. Students must complete 120 credit hours with a 2.00 cumulative GPA, including college writing and mathematics requirements, plus ten general education courses across five foundational areas, with at least one lab science course.Major requirements consist of 42 credit hours with grades of C or better, including 21 hours at the 300 level or above. Students choose one of four tracks: Literary Studies, Cinema Studies, Creative Writing, or Transcultural Studies, each featuring core courses, surveys, and electives. A combined BA and MA program is available for students with a 3.00 overall GPA and 3.20 in literature courses, subject to graduate admission standards.
