Bioinformatics integrates computer science and molecular biology to provide fundamental insights into life processes, driven by advances in biological data collection. It is crucial for extracting meaningful information, enabling in-depth understanding of human diseases and identifying new molecular targets for drug discovery. Graduates acquire knowledge and skills to address real-world life science challenges from an informatics and computational viewpoint. The programme offers three tailored study pathways. After Year Two, options include continuing bioinformatics at XJTLU (emphasising computational content) or studying molecular bioscience at the University of Liverpool (emphasising lab-based biological content). At XJTLU, benefit from a comprehensive curriculum in genetics, cell biology, mathematics, biostatistics, machine learning, AI, and big data; proximity to BioBay's 400+ biotech firms for internships; an international research environment; access to Cold Spring Harbor Asia events; and dual degrees from XJTLU and the University of Liverpool.
