Actuarial Science, BSc (Hons)

Actuaries apply advanced mathematical expertise and business insight to tackle financial challenges involving risk and uncertainty.This program merges the strengths of the School for Business and Society with the Department of Mathematics, offering access to leading researchers at the forefront of their fields. Students will refine their mathematical and statistical skills through topics such as advanced calculus, algebra, probability, and statistics, while also studying economics, finance, and accounting to understand the broader context of actuarial work. Graduates emerge as versatile, highly employable professionals equipped with the qualifications needed to become certified actuaries. The course is available as a four-year degree with an optional year in industry: Actuarial Science (with a year in industry) (BSc).
