Architecture, BSc (Hons)

The BSc (Hons) in Architecture at UWE Bristol covers the theoretical, historical, environmental, technological, and professional aspects of architecture. As one of five specialized courses offered by the university, it ranks 4th nationally for student satisfaction (The Guardian University League Tables 2018), producing graduates with specialist knowledge and skills to design innovative buildings. Students learn from industry-experienced lecturers and tutors, many in active practice, while exploring the design, refurbishment, and reuse of structures with a focus on building technology. They develop creative solutions from concepts to detailed designs.Through day trips, residential field trips in the UK and abroad, internships, and real-client projects, students gain practical experience and build an impressive portfolio. Graduates are expected to complete a year in an architectural practice before progressing to a Part 2 course, such as the top-20 ranked MArch, equipping them with strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diverse careers. The program is accredited by professional bodies including the Architects Registration Board, Royal Institute of British Architects, and Board of Architects Malaysia, ensuring industry-wide recognition.
