Mathematics with Data Science, MMath (Hons)

Ninety-five percent of our Mathematical Sciences research is rated world-leading or internationally excellent (REF 2021). This integrated Masters course in machine learning and data science equips students with essential skills to tackle data-intensive challenges, ideal for those pursuing research careers. You will explore the interplay of mathematics, data, and statistics, gaining a solid foundation in theories and techniques. Through modules based on cutting-edge research, you’ll apply algorithms for analysing and visualising large datasets using real-world examples, supported by expert faculty whose work impacts areas like artificial intelligence, smart materials, and infectious disease control.In your studies, you’ll develop analytical and modelling skills with tools such as Python and R, culminating in an advanced research project during the fourth year. Graduates will be prepared for roles in financial services, information technology, or research.
