Law with a Language, LLB (Hons)

This course provides a comprehensive foundation in English law, alongside explorations of international, European, and Canadian legal systems. Students may select one language from options including Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, or British Sign Language. Key topics include the regulation of relationships between individuals and the state, interactions among groups, and both theoretical and practical aspects of law. Taught by research-active faculty within a dynamic community, the program offers hands-on experience through Sussex Law Clinics and connections with leading law firms for competitions in mooting, advocacy, and negotiation. It develops essential skills in analysis, argument, and persuasion, preparing graduates for diverse careers, with alumni support available.The degree qualifies as a pathway to becoming a solicitor or barrister, meeting academic requirements for Bar Standards Board and Solicitors Regulation Authority (subject to pass criteria).
