The BA (Hons) Education Studies program offers a comprehensive exploration of education's principles, systems, and structures, while examining the history and socio-cultural aspects of modern pedagogy. Students will critically analyze all phases of education through historical, philosophical, sociological, and psychological perspectives. This course suits individuals interested in education careers but uncertain of their path, providing opportunities to discover passions and, upon graduation, a guaranteed interview for a PGCE at the University of Sunderland.Modules are available on the University website. The program is delivered through small group work, workshops, lectures, tutorials, computer-based learning, presentations, and independent study. Assessment includes essays, reports, group work, seminar presentations, and self-evaluation, with one-to-one support from academic staff. Please note that this course does not award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), required for teaching in state schools in England and Wales.
