This course develops essential knowledge and skills to positively influence health and physical activity across diverse settings. It provides opportunities for engagement in cutting-edge, internationally recognized research, access to on-campus human performance and body composition labs, and learning from leading sporting coaches. Graduates pursue careers in coaching, health promotion, and sport development, often requiring additional postgraduate training, while also working towards National Governing Body coaching awards or advancing to Physical Education teaching. The program ranks 5th in Scotland for Sports Science (The Times/Sunday Times University Rankings 2024).To teach at state schools in England or Wales, qualified teacher status (QTS) is required; however, this course does not award it.
