Physics underpins advancements from fundamental research to practical engineering applications. At Strathclyde, the Physics programme equips students with essential skills for a successful career, incorporating computational physics in the first three years. You will learn from leading academics, engage in laboratory training culminating in a research project, and have opportunities for summer industrial placements. The course is accredited by the Institute of Physics.Career prospects for graduates are diverse, spanning industries like defence, photonics, and oil and gas. Roles include renewable energy scientist, environmental scientist, medical physicist, systems engineer, defence scientist, patent examiner, actuary, treasury analyst, and research scientist. Note that this course does not award qualified teacher status (QTS), required for teaching in state schools in England or Wales.
