Spanish and Latin American Studies, BA (Hons)

With over 400 million speakers worldwide, Spanish proficiency is a valuable asset in the global job market. This course accommodates learners from beginners to advanced levels, equipping them to master reading, writing, and speaking at a standard suited to today's professional demands. Participants will gain critical insights into the societies and cultures of Spain and Latin America, along with transferable skills applicable in diverse academic and career settings.For deeper immersion, most degree programs include an extended study period abroad in Spain, Mexico, Chile, or Argentina, complemented by research-led teaching at Stirling. Competitive opportunities to work with the British Council abroad can further enhance CVs, with applications required in advance. Additionally, Spanish and Latin American Studies can be combined with subjects like Accountancy, French, Education, Business Studies, Law, or Journalism, allowing students to tailor their studies toward future goals from the outset.
