Discover the secrets of the oceans through our four-year integrated Master's in Oceanography, accredited by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST). As part of one of Europe's largest marine science communities at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton, you will explore topics such as coastal change, ocean currents, and the physical and chemical controls on marine life. You will build practical skills through laboratory work, research vessels, field courses, and independent projects, guided by academics who influence policy and decision-making.Modules in the first year include Physics of the Ocean, Introduction to Ocean Biogeochemistry, and Key Skills for Marine Scientists. Learning involves lectures, tutorials, and independent study, with assessments through coursework, laboratory reports, projects, presentations, and exams.
