About the course

This four-year integrated master's degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics allows students to study French, German, or Spanish alongside linguistic principles, exploring how languages are formed, acquired, and evolved. With a focus on practical application, participants spend a year abroad at a university, enhancing language proficiency while delving into the culture, history, and society of French-, German-, or Spanish-speaking regions. Graduates develop critical skills in language use, cultural interpretation, and independent research, culminating in a dissertation. Employment outcomes are strong, with 96% of alumni in work or further study within 15 months.*Key modules cover topics such as Applications of Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, Language and Intercultural Communication, and Audiovisual Translation. Students select areas of interest including translation, contemporary society, literature, film, ethnography, and politics.
