About the course

This four-year bachelor's degree enables you to enhance your language skills and deepen your understanding of societies where these languages are spoken. Study three languages from options including Chinese, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. You will spend a year abroad on a workplace, teaching, or university placement, fostering critical thinking and cultural awareness. Notably, 96% of graduates secure employment or further study within 15 months. For those new to a language, additional teaching and funding support rapid progress.Modules cover topics such as applications of linguistics, language acquisition, globalisation, and cultural studies like literature and film. Assessment methods include lectures, classes, tutorials, coursework, individual and group projects, and independent learning. This programme allows specialisation in areas like translation, anthropology, and history.

You will study your chosen languages and societies and cultures where they are spoken. You can choose from Chinese, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
