Mechatronic engineering integrates electrical and mechanical disciplines to develop solutions for systems involving mechanical elements, electrical power, sensing, and control. The four-year MEng Mechatronic Engineering degree at Southampton builds on the BEng program, addressing industry needs for specialists in robotics, flexible manufacturing, and electromechanical systems. Students explore integrating microelectronics with mechanical components in applications like electric vehicles and industrial robots. This four-year MEng programme has been designed to maximise student choice by allowing you to tailor the degree structure to suit your own interests. During the first two years you will undertake a series of core modules, for example Circuits, Electronic Systems, Programming, Digital Systems and Devices, Fields, Forces and Materials, and Mathematics. In your third and fourth years you can choose from a wide range of optional modules that reflect the specialist areas of electronic engineering that will take you to the leading edge of technology sought by industry.
